At night, moonshine flooding my room,
A little boy, a mind filled with space,
Ships, majestic, on course to planets new,
Sailing the passages of light,
In a cosmos wild and unknown...
My body resting on the ground,
Where I can feel my breathing, slowly, and
Life pulsing through veins, behind closed eyes.
I dream of a far away universe,
A Galaxy filled with wonders of science and technology.
Why am I here.
Why am I alone.
Why does no one understand my pounding heart.
My silent call goes out to forces distant,
A desire to leave it all behind and flee
Into the wonders not as mundane and pointless
As the rock and it's pathetic beings that keep me bound.
A silent mental beacon reaches beyond
Inviting more advanced civilizations to lift me up,
Take me away, take me in, take me to their realms.
And on the other side of the world there are you.
The yearning pounding in your heart,
The same desires pulling on your soul.
Before we ever met, before we ever kissed,
Before we ever touched, we were one.
How can a life without you exist.
How can a path to the stars be trodden
without you by my side.
Let us never leave,
never part,
never separate.
